Grandpa's surgery
Since many did not know that grandpa was going into surgery, I thought that there would probably be more who may not have seen facebook. Grandpa's back was not healing up it had a pocket that had infection still in it and was not getting better. So they had to have a plastic surgeon go into his back again and scrape out the scar tissue to hopefully help it heal all the way up. The surgery went very well and he was up and talking afterwards, his stats were even better after the surgery then before. Just keep him and grandma in your prayers.

Bair Family Reunion
Boy do I feel like a slacker...
The Bair Family Reunion will be held Saturday at 10am at Barnes Park in Kaysville. Grandma is in charge of it this year, so we (my Mom) have planned so really great activites for the kids this year. It will be a great day, and we would love to see you all there!

Happy Birthday Aaron!
I am a day late, but I had to let everyone know about Aaron's birthday.
And about his leg. So he broke his leg playing church ball. He broke the smaller bone down near the ankle, it is a spiral break going up the bone about 1 1/2 inches and tore all the legiments off the ankle. He had surgery on June 5th. They put in a 10in. plate and 8 screws. He can't walk on it for 8 weeks (so 6 more to go). It has been tough for him but he is adjusting. He is really bummed he is going to miss out on all the fun water activities this summer.

Grandpa's Home!
Grandpa came home Monday ( I think), my days are all running together, sorry. Anyway, Grandma says he is doing ok. Oh course, still in a lot of pain, but Grandma just tells him to "buck up!" Good ol' Grandma!!! Anyway, He's still not out of the woods yet so keep those prayers coming, but he is home and will hopefully heal faster now!
We love you Grandpa! and Grandma, just turn the phone off when you need a break! It's not likely he'll get up to come find you! ;)

Monday Night Update
I just talked to my Mom, Shauna, and she said she just got back from the hospital. Grandpa is looking and feeling much better tonight. The drs patched the hole in the spinal column and Grandpa has to stay flat on his back for 48 hours to let it heal. They are hoping to get him home before the the weekend.
He is in much better spirits than he was last night. He was pretty down about things last night while I was visiting him, but I guess he is feeling better tonight. He still has a bit of a fever, but it's not high enough to be a concern, his pain is under control, his heart is in great working order, and he is back to being grumpy! J/K :). I told him I would start worrying about him when he quit being grumpy, he wasn't grumpy at all last night, and I must say I was VERY worried last night.
I'm so glad he is feeling better tonight, and things are looking up! Thanks for all the prayers---keep them coming (for Grandma too!)
One more to pray for...Aaron broke his leg playing church ball last week and had to have surgery to put it back together. He is supposed to stay off it for 6 or 8 weeks. I hope you're feeling better Aaron. Maybe someone with more info can post more about this situation...

Monday Surgery
Grandpa just got out of surgery. They decided to go ahead with another surgery (after changing their minds a couple of times!) today because he was having a lot of drainage from the incision. He just got out of surgery and they found another hole in his spinal column and that's what most of the drainage was... spinal fluid. He had a fever Sat. night, but Sunday night it seemed to have come down. His heart hasn't had any problems for 3 days, but we will see what happens after surgery today; it seems to race after surgery...
I don't know much more right now, but will keep everyone updated as often as possible. I have left my phone in Kaysville but will be going back down Tues night or Wed morning so I will grab it then. In the meantime, I have one of those prepaid phones if you need to get hold of me, but I probably won't be doing much calling out, sorry... my number is 307-389-5221.

Another Surgery
Grandpa was supposed to have another surgery today, but the doctors didn't "get" to it today. Hopefully they can find the time tomorrow! They will go in and clean the incision out again. Needless to say, he won't be coming home tomorrow.
Grandma has asked if we would all be wiling to fast for Grandpa on Sunday. He would love to have your thoughts and prayers with him...
He is at the University of Utah Hospital in room 405. I will try to keep this updated better, and make sure to let everyone know about the outcome tomorrow.

Grandpa
So the doctors said last night that he would be going home today because his heart rate and blood were down to normal again, but when the doctor came in this morning he looked at the stuff draining out of grandpa's back and saw that there was pus so they are having to take him back in tomorrow and reopen the incision and re clean it all out. So remember to keep him and Grandma in your prayers. I think he is at the U of U hospital but I am not sure.

Update on Grandpa
I found out that Grandpa's spinal cord was leaking and that is what was feeding the staph infection, so they put a shunt in and he has to stay in the hospital until it stops draining. When he got out of surgery he did not have much color but after the pain meds and so other meds his color came back, his heart was also racing again like last time. The nurse said that it is better to race then to sound slow. Grandma did not get a call last night or this morning to come to the hospital so I guess no news is good news.
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
For those of you who don't know, Grandpa went back to the hospital yesterday. He has a staph infection in his incision. I guess it just wasn't healing and the nurse that has been coming to the house to help got concerned and sent them back. They are going to be operating on him again hopefully today. They are going to go in and try to clean everything out. That's all I know right now. Keep him in your prayers, grandma too!

What cha doin?
Well, to start things off.... thank goodness for warmer weather! First time we possibly could we drag out the good ol snap set bright pink Little Mermaid pool we did! I was able to capture something I see daily but have never captured on film to embarrass her late in life. It may have something to do with dance pictures earlier in the day and the makeup and hair, but seriously, this is not her first rodeo with the whole diva thing....check out the vid to see what I mean.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over Memorial Day weekend we brought home Willow... Now it's been over a week. Let me tell you about this new canine member. She likes to eat... no she LOVES to eat. She is like Chuck on the Goonies. She is that fat kid with a candy bar in their mouth yelling out at every one else while lagging behind "Hey Guys wait up for me". We have 2 concrete front steps on our front porch and her belly is always so full that she puts her two front feet on the step and then rocks until she can hoist her rear end up. When the food has depleted out of her bowl she will sit there and whine. Poor Winston can barely vie for his own nourishment! When I hold Willow to allow him to eat she will fight me pushing against me with all her might while whining to get away and get back to that delicious dog gourmet.
Anyway... our house is full of dogs. Yes we are crazy.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summer time and slip in slides go hand in hand. So once given the opportunity to give my daughter the experience of just that... I jumped on it. 9.99 and a whole lot-a joy.
Still while on our wonderful 4 day Memorial Day weekend we needed to make a trip fishing... it's protocol. So we packed up drove a couple hours away... got out of the car, hiked down the steep hill (Mike always has to pick the most obscure spots to fish) nearly having to repel, got comfortable, Mike got suited up, flies tied. Then he casts... once, twice... snap! Fishing rod breaks... so what else to do but go back home... lovely. But Willow got the chance to swim!
Michaella quite loves Willow. Here she is with a barrette in her hair. A while later Mike picks up Willow and asks me if she has gotten a bath because she smell so good. Nope! Michaella informs us she sprayed her hair with detangler so she could comb it. She may have a future in dog grooming.
As girly as Michaella is, here she is with a worm in her hand! Which reminds me. The other day I look at Michaella on my bathroom floor and she's chewing with a bit of exaggeration. So I ask her "Kaella, what cha doin?" Kaella- "Eating an ant." Me- "Are you kidding me?" Kaella-" No Daddy told me I can eat them, so I eat them all the time and I share them with my friends. They are kind of crunchy" .........thanks DAD.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So this last weekend was big Michaella's Dance recital Weekend. It's a kind of a big deal! My Parents came up and it is always nice to have them around. Michaella loves her Papa and Grandma!
Here we are getting all dolled up. Michaella loves putting make up on, not so much getting her hair done.
All dressed up and somewhere to GO!
Shaydynn , Giselle (GiGi) Claire and Michaella doing their best pose!
Michaella and Shaydynn, they have such a hard time focusing in class because they are always horsing around. Cute girls.
Mike was at the recital, he deserves that credit! He left during intermission and came home and cooked us all ribs. Mike honestly has the best ribs you will ever eat. It would even be worth the trip to Nampa just to have them...hint hint any one.
Here is her Official Dance Photo. She has grown up so much. I can't believe she is going to be going to school in less than 3 months. She is so beautiful and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful little girl.

He's Home!
Grandpa came home Sat. night. He is still in pain, but that's to be expected right?! He is actually doing a lot better. He has had a physical therapist in to help him with therapy and a nurse has been coming to check on him. Grandma says he is up walking around and doing pretty good.
He won't tell you that, according to him he is going to be "6-feet under" any day now! :) I just tell him they don't want him up there, he's too mean so we're stuck with him for a while yet! ;)

The latest
Ok here is the latest. Grandpa is doing much better tonight. The doctors think that he just had an arrhymthia which they said was normal. His MRI and ultrasound all came back with nothing out of the ordinary. My mom said he looked a lot better tonight then he did yesterday. So if all goes well he will be able to come home tomorrow some time.
More on Grandpa
The doctors got Grandpa'a heart rate down, they were just waiting on the results of the MRI. His heart rate came down by itself, the doctors were about to put him to sleep and shock his heart to bring it down but luckily it did it on its own.
Grandpa
I just got done talking to my mom (Shauna)and she was telling me that Grandpa is not doing so well. He is still in the hospital but his heart is racing and he has very low blood pressure. They are going to check to see if he has a blood clot in his lung and I guess that could be causing these problems. Just keep him and Grandma in your prayers. I will try to keep everyone posted on what is going on but if you hear first then lets us all know.

Robert
So I just wanted to let everyone know about my dad, Robert. Back on December 24th he went in the hospital with an infection in his leg. It is called cellulitis. He spent just about a month in the hospital treating it. He did very well and the infection was gone and he went home.
I got a phone call from him this morning and he said the infection is back. He is worried and isn't feeling well at all.
I just thought it might be a good idea to keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

Michelle
Keep Michelle in your thoughts and prayers... this shows you what a terrible sister I am. She's been sooo sick for a week. She has been right down in bed even taking time off work (which never happens with her!). Hopefully she is getting to the end of it, but she still sounded horrible tonight.
Hope you get better quick!

JT
I just found out JT was in the hopsital all day yesterday having tests run. He's been having really bad headaches for a while. They did some scans and think he may have blood clots on his brain but aren't 100% sure yet. They will run more tests on Thursday to try and figure things out. They also found a heart murmer, but the Dr. wasn't worried about that as much as the headaches. They also said his pulse was VERY slow; even slower than Lance Armstrongs, and were worried about that, but after further tests concluded he was just in very good shape (wish I had that problem)!! Josh is supposed to try out for the U of U and Dixie soccer teams on Friday, the 13th (ohhh, I just realized what day that is ;-)) I hope your feeling better by then Josh, and hope you kick butt at the tryouts! Good Luck!!
Keep Josh and his family in your prayers this week; and the Dr. too. Sometimes I think the Dr's need more prayers than we do! Let's hope they figure this out soon and it's an easy fix!
GOOD LUCK JOSH!!!

Richard's Obituary
Richard Golden Waldron
Richard Golden Waldron 1931 ~ 2009 Richard Golden Waldron, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009, due to a lingering illness. He was born July 21, 1931 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Golden Robert Waldron and Elizabeth Maude Maughn Bradshaw. Richard had three older sisters, Kathleen, Florence, and Del Rae. The family later moved to Salt Lake City. Richard attended East High School and played on their football team. He then proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the Army's general infantry. Richard graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in accounting. He married Golda Louis Webster on November 27, 1954, in Elko, Nevada. They had two children, Linda and G.R. The family made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Richard worked for Dixon Paper Company until he received his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license. At that time, Richard began working for TJ Christiansen Accounting Firm. 40 years ago, Richard started his own firm of Waldron and Associates, and was well known for regularly preparing tax returns for the elderly and for family, without charge. Richard also sat on the Board of Carpenter Paper Company. Richard enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to ski and used to work for Alta Ski Resort, just so he could afford to spend his winters skiing. He liked to hunt and fish and he enjoyed bowling. However, the greatest passion in his life was golf. Richard and Golda were members of Oakridge Country Club for many years. The one desire that eluded him in his life, was getting a Hole in One. However, he was proud of the fact that he got a Hole in Two! He was an extremely hard worker and began working at the age of six, to help support his family. His mischievous ways and his irreverent sense of humor were with him until the end and he will be greatly missed for this. He is survived by his wife Golda, Salt Lake City; his daughter Linda (Zumaeta, Chandler) Johnson, Salt Lake City; and his son G.R., New York, NY. He is also survived by three grandsons, Morgan Zumaeta, Nicholas Zumaeta, and Lairan Johnson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday January 16, at the Grandview Ward Chapel located at 2930 South 2000 East. Friends and family may call Thursday, January 15, from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive and on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. The family wishes to thank Midas Creek Home Health, Utah Hospice Specialists, our evening CNA'a and the Cardenas family for all of the care and support that they provided to us.

Richards Funeral
I just got word from Grandma last night that Uncle Richards funeral will be on Friday at 11am in Salt Lake. I don't have the exact address, but will try and get it posted on here for anyone who wants to and can attend. You can also call Grandma, she know's the address.
Grandma and Grandpa went and bought a nice bouquet of flowers to give Golda from our whole family, so if you'd like to donate anything to that get in touch with Grandma.
Please keep aunt Golda in your prayers, she's having a really hard time right now.

Uncle Richard
For those of you that don't already know, Aunt Golda's husband-Richard-passed away this morning (Sunday) around 9am. Aunt Golda is pretty upset (especially at Richard for leaving her). Please keep her in your prayers and I will keep you all updated on the funeral details as I receive them. He fought a good fight, but was pretty bad towards the end so I guess it is a blessing for him, but so hard for those of us left behind :(
