Happy Birthday Aaron!

I am a day late, but I had to let everyone know about Aaron's birthday.
And about his leg. So he broke his leg playing church ball. He broke the smaller bone down near the ankle, it is a spiral break going up the bone about 1 1/2 inches and tore all the legiments off the ankle. He had surgery on June 5th. They put in a 10in. plate and 8 screws. He can't walk on it for 8 weeks (so 6 more to go). It has been tough for him but he is adjusting. He is really bummed he is going to miss out on all the fun water activities this summer.

Happy Birthday Zach!

It's Zach's day today! Hope you have a great day. I can't wait for the wedding, it sounds like a lot of fun!

Grandpa's Home!

Grandpa came home Monday ( I think), my days are all running together, sorry. Anyway, Grandma says he is doing ok. Oh course, still in a lot of pain, but Grandma just tells him to "buck up!" Good ol' Grandma!!! Anyway, He's still not out of the woods yet so keep those prayers coming, but he is home and will hopefully heal faster now!

We love you Grandpa! and Grandma, just turn the phone off when you need a break! It's not likely he'll get up to come find you! ;)

Monday Night Update

I just talked to my Mom, Shauna, and she said she just got back from the hospital. Grandpa is looking and feeling much better tonight. The drs patched the hole in the spinal column and Grandpa has to stay flat on his back for 48 hours to let it heal. They are hoping to get him home before the the weekend.

He is in much better spirits than he was last night. He was pretty down about things last night while I was visiting him, but I guess he is feeling better tonight. He still has a bit of a fever, but it's not high enough to be a concern, his pain is under control, his heart is in great working order, and he is back to being grumpy! J/K :). I told him I would start worrying about him when he quit being grumpy, he wasn't grumpy at all last night, and I must say I was VERY worried last night.

I'm so glad he is feeling better tonight, and things are looking up! Thanks for all the prayers---keep them coming (for Grandma too!)

One more to pray for...Aaron broke his leg playing church ball last week and had to have surgery to put it back together. He is supposed to stay off it for 6 or 8 weeks. I hope you're feeling better Aaron. Maybe someone with more info can post more about this situation...

Monday Surgery

Grandpa just got out of surgery. They decided to go ahead with another surgery (after changing their minds a couple of times!) today because he was having a lot of drainage from the incision. He just got out of surgery and they found another hole in his spinal column and that's what most of the drainage was... spinal fluid. He had a fever Sat. night, but Sunday night it seemed to have come down. His heart hasn't had any problems for 3 days, but we will see what happens after surgery today; it seems to race after surgery...

I don't know much more right now, but will keep everyone updated as often as possible. I have left my phone in Kaysville but will be going back down Tues night or Wed morning so I will grab it then. In the meantime, I have one of those prepaid phones if you need to get hold of me, but I probably won't be doing much calling out, sorry... my number is 307-389-5221.

Another Surgery

Grandpa was supposed to have another surgery today, but the doctors didn't "get" to it today. Hopefully they can find the time tomorrow! They will go in and clean the incision out again. Needless to say, he won't be coming home tomorrow.

Grandma has asked if we would all be wiling to fast for Grandpa on Sunday. He would love to have your thoughts and prayers with him...

He is at the University of Utah Hospital in room 405. I will try to keep this updated better, and make sure to let everyone know about the outcome tomorrow.

Grandpa

So the doctors said last night that he would be going home today because his heart rate and blood were down to normal again, but when the doctor came in this morning he looked at the stuff draining out of grandpa's back and saw that there was pus so they are having to take him back in tomorrow and reopen the incision and re clean it all out. So remember to keep him and Grandma in your prayers. I think he is at the U of U hospital but I am not sure.

Update on Grandpa

I found out that Grandpa's spinal cord was leaking and that is what was feeding the staph infection, so they put a shunt in and he has to stay in the hospital until it stops draining. When he got out of surgery he did not have much color but after the pain meds and so other meds his color came back, his heart was also racing again like last time. The nurse said that it is better to race then to sound slow. Grandma did not get a call last night or this morning to come to the hospital so I guess no news is good news.

For those of you who don't know, Grandpa went back to the hospital yesterday. He has a staph infection in his incision. I guess it just wasn't healing and the nurse that has been coming to the house to help got concerned and sent them back. They are going to be operating on him again hopefully today. They are going to go in and try to clean everything out. That's all I know right now. Keep him in your prayers, grandma too!

What cha doin?

Well, to start things off.... thank goodness for warmer weather! First time we possibly could we drag out the good ol snap set bright pink Little Mermaid pool we did! I was able to capture something I see daily but have never captured on film to embarrass her late in life. It may have something to do with dance pictures earlier in the day and the makeup and hair, but seriously, this is not her first rodeo with the whole diva thing....check out the vid to see what I mean.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Over Memorial Day weekend we brought home Willow... Now it's been over a week. Let me tell you about this new canine member. She likes to eat... no she LOVES to eat. She is like Chuck on the Goonies. She is that fat kid with a candy bar in their mouth yelling out at every one else while lagging behind "Hey Guys wait up for me". We have 2 concrete front steps on our front porch and her belly is always so full that she puts her two front feet on the step and then rocks until she can hoist her rear end up. When the food has depleted out of her bowl she will sit there and whine. Poor Winston can barely vie for his own nourishment! When I hold Willow to allow him to eat she will fight me pushing against me with all her might while whining to get away and get back to that delicious dog gourmet.

Anyway... our house is full of dogs. Yes we are crazy.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summer time and slip in slides go hand in hand. So once given the opportunity to give my daughter the experience of just that... I jumped on it. 9.99 and a whole lot-a joy.

Still while on our wonderful 4 day Memorial Day weekend we needed to make a trip fishing... it's protocol. So we packed up drove a couple hours away... got out of the car, hiked down the steep hill (Mike always has to pick the most obscure spots to fish) nearly having to repel, got comfortable, Mike got suited up, flies tied. Then he casts... once, twice... snap! Fishing rod breaks... so what else to do but go back home... lovely. But Willow got the chance to swim!
Michaella quite loves Willow. Here she is with a barrette in her hair. A while later Mike picks up Willow and asks me if she has gotten a bath because she smell so good. Nope! Michaella informs us she sprayed her hair with detangler so she could comb it. She may have a future in dog grooming.
As girly as Michaella is, here she is with a worm in her hand! Which reminds me. The other day I look at Michaella on my bathroom floor and she's chewing with a bit of exaggeration. So I ask her "Kaella, what cha doin?" Kaella- "Eating an ant." Me- "Are you kidding me?" Kaella-" No Daddy told me I can eat them, so I eat them all the time and I share them with my friends. They are kind of crunchy" .........thanks DAD.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So this last weekend was big Michaella's Dance recital Weekend. It's a kind of a big deal! My Parents came up and it is always nice to have them around. Michaella loves her Papa and Grandma!

Here we are getting all dolled up. Michaella loves putting make up on, not so much getting her hair done.

All dressed up and somewhere to GO!

Shaydynn , Giselle (GiGi) Claire and Michaella doing their best pose!

Michaella and Shaydynn, they have such a hard time focusing in class because they are always horsing around. Cute girls.

Mike was at the recital, he deserves that credit! He left during intermission and came home and cooked us all ribs. Mike honestly has the best ribs you will ever eat. It would even be worth the trip to Nampa just to have them...hint hint any one.
Here is her Official Dance Photo. She has grown up so much. I can't believe she is going to be going to school in less than 3 months. She is so beautiful and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful little girl.
